Because he’s the nesting doll that Gotham deserves. San Francisco-based designer Andy Stattmiller has come up with a set of nesting dolls inspired by characters from the live-action Batman TV show of the 1960s.
Instead of painting them in the dark and gritty style of today’s comics, Stattmiller decided to give them a colourful façade, reminiscent of the classic Adam West-led TV series. The biggest doll is, of course, Batman, followed by Robin, The Joker, Batgirl, The Riddler, Commissioner Gordon, Catwoman, and Penguin.
The collection is currently on display at the ‘Idiot Box 2’ art show at Gallery 1988 from now until the 16th of May.
